We are a Volunteer Based K-9 Unit

  WCSD is an all volunteer unit based out of Weld County, Colorado.  Our team can assist in searches for missing persons in disaster areas, urban and rural settings, wilderness and mountainous regions, collapsed buildings/towns.

 

Our team members receive training in traditional search methods, air scent and scent discrimination (with or without a scent article) rough country rescue,  search operations and theory and crime scene preservation.   

 

Additionally, several members have extensive training in advanced search and rescue techniques. 

 

Our K-9 Unit specializes in land and water searches using certified Tracking/Trailing, Airscent and HRD dogs.

We do not work felony apprehension searches.
